The second annual AFMXA Awards are going down this Saturday, December 4 at 7 p.m. at the Pala Casino in Pala, Calif. We'll have a full video report from the show on Monday, but first let's break out the crystal ball. Here's a look at the nominees in the first three categories, with our take on how things should shake out. We'll go over the second three categories tomorrow.

BEST VIRAL MEDIA PIECE
Last Year's Winner: Category is new this year
This one might be our favorite awards category ever. First up: TransWorld Motocross made the mistake of letting Jeremy "Twitch" Stenberg take the mic for this episode of "Ask Me A Question" with Taka Hagashino. Whoops.
Wish you could be a freestyle rider? Derek Cook dropped some knowledge -- and some balls -- in the B Shipman Films instructional "How to Be A Freestyle Rider" from director Blake Shipman. Remember: Riding is only a small part of being a freestyle motocrosser. You have to look like you ride, too.
And, our pick, with nearly 100,000 YouTube viewers backing us up: Brian Deegan faces off against his own worst enemy in "Deegan vs. Deegan" from Maxxis Tires Films, Metal Mulisha, and director Mike Flores.

TRANSWORLD BEST SPREAD IN A MAGAZINE
Last Year's Winner: Jeremy Lusk
Ever wonder what your front tire is thinking as you're hucking that backflip no-hander? Todd Potter was asking himself the same damned thing. Here's his "Look mom, no hands" spread from September 2010 for a change in perspective.
A lot of FMX fans think Mike Mason is Superman. Now what would give them that idea? How about this "Steel Horses" shot from June 2010?
Ronnie Renner is looking loose in this June 2010 spread and calling it "Art." We say: Hang it in a museum!
And, last but not least: Our pick for Best Spread is "Shredding," this picturesque shot of Adam Jones making some mountains look good in March 2010. All photos up for nomination were shot by Chris Tedesco
UNSUNG HERO
Last Year's Winner: Lizz Leach
In this category they're using the word "unsung" awfully liberally: Jeff Weiner is the director of racing development at Alpinestars and the behind-the-scenes guy holding down the Alpinestars rig at most FMX events.
Chuck Carothers is best known for landing and winning a gold medal with the "Carolla" body varial in the 2004 X Games Best Trick comp; now he's the man behind the FreestyleMTX.com empire, where, among other achievements, his similarly hands-off policy has helped create the most heated online forum in FMX.
Dr. Gus Gialamas is a founding member of the AFMXA Board of Directors and is better known as the orthopedic surgeon who has put all of your favorite bionic dudes back together as Chief of Surgery at San Clemente Hospital.
All great guys, but from what we've seen of "On The Pipe 6" so far (the film premieres on Saturday at 9 p.m., after the awards ceremony), we're betting on filmmaker and Powerband Films founder Jay Schweitzer to win this year's "Unsung Hero" award.
