Metal Mulisha's "Black Friday" gallery/teaser

Shane RuizTag along with the Metal Mulisha on their "Black Friday" road trip. Launch gallery»

On November 16th, we announced that Metal Mulisha had begun production on their new big-budget film titled "Black Friday." Produced and filmed by moto-flick master Jay Schweitzer, "Black Friday" will be an all-Mulisha masterpiece that is set to drop in November of 2011 -- the day after Thanksgiving (also known as Black Friday) to be exact.

For the first shoot, the boys bolted off to do some freeriding in Cameron, Ariz., followed by Glamis sand dunes, and then finished up at Ocotillo Wells. Before the trip, Metal Mulisha's Marketing Director Ryan Hagy told ESPN, "This first trip is to get everyone motivated and into the project. We've hired cooks, mechanics -- we have five Class A motorhomes -- we really want to give the guys luxury style to where we can encourage them to be more motivated to make movies from now and into the future."

jQuery(window).load(function() {jQuery('#video5960446').html('');});

With a high profile production of this nature, it's always key to keep the footage and photos under wraps so that everything is new to the viewer when they finally get the DVD in their hands, however Hagy was gracious enough to allow us to run a few select shots from the first road trip.

Dec 20, New & Used Dirt Bikes for Sale Designed for Motocross, Off-Road or FMX

Facebook Banner

Listed below are several different categories of dirt bikes for sale categorized by manufacturer ranging from cheap to exotic and within each category you'll find that there are both new and used dirt bikes being offered, most of which are intended for, or could be used for motocross applications or converted into woods bikes for trail riding or racing off-road disciplines such as GNCC Racing, Enduro's or Hare Scrambles and the like, as well as others that could even be used on and off-road for dual purpose applications and some which are just the right size to be used for pit bike applications or for younger riders or other kids to start out on. (including Pee-Wee level bikes) Also, you'll even find some bikes that are already setup for freestyle motocross which are being offered as-is and ready for the ramps, or could be converted and setup for FMX use.

If you're interested in any of the used dirt bikes that are being offered, you may want to check out the page elsewhere on this site for tips on buying a used dirt bike before shelling out the cash, as the page highlights some questions which you may want to ask the seller, as well as things you should check if the dirt bike is close enough to go check out in person before buying it, this way you don't end up with some roach that's been ragged on and will likely need a lot of work or that parts are in an almost endless need of, or which are almost unobtainable for. If you've been shopping for new dirt bikes and have been reading magazine reviews and / or bike tests / shootouts performed by Transworld Motocross (TWMX), Motocross Action (MXA) or any of the other publications such as Dirt Bike and have either decided on a particular model and are looking for it at the sweetest deal possible, or you've already bought one or are likely going to (Hence the reason you're here) you may want to check out the page elsewhere on this site for tips on what you can do to make a new dirt bike perform better and last longer straight out of the crate or off the dealership floor. Whether you find yourself with a new or used dirt bike, one of the most important things anyone can do is to get the motorcycle setup correctly for the rider that will be piloting it and most dirt bikes have a multitude of adjustability to suit the rider and conditions or disciplines which the motorcycle will be being used, even if you're dealing with an older bike without much adjustability, there are still customizations which can be made such as handlebar and control lever positioning and and there are some excellent tips on all of this on the page covering motorcycle setup. If you've been shopping the dirt bikes for sale it's important to remember that routine dirt bike maintenance is critical and it's the only way to keep any dirt bike in it's best possible condition and the following link will direct you to a page which will provide you with links to topics that anyone can and should do themselves such as cleaning the air filter or servicing the suspension and linkage and the page covering dirt bike maintenance is an excellent resource and starting point for anyone interested in keeping a dirt bike in it's best possible condition. There's nothing like seeing someone whom hasn't ridden much (if any) run out and buy one of the baddest, meanest dirt bikes out there and take it to the track thinking they're an instant star and getting themselves wadded up so if you're fairly new to dirt bikes (you don't even have to admit it) do us all a favor and take a trip by the page regarding dirt bike safety to make sure you have all the proper safety equipment, as well as picking up on a few tips while you're over there that should keep you relatively safe until you figure out that a 100ft triple is not quite as easy to clear as it looks on Fuel TV, EXPN, SPEED or whatever you've been watching. Once you've got a pretty good idea about what's ahead of you, there are some listings up next of dirt bikes for sale that are all pretty well broken down into categories specific to each manufacturer such as Honda, Kawasaki, Yamaha, Suzuki, KTM... Ya know... The Usual suspects and there's even a category for Vintage Iron down there for those whom are all about preserving the heritage of motocross!!

Interview: Levi Sherwood on the mend

After his huge season-ending crash at the ASA World Championships of FMX in Pomona, Calif. in September, Levi Sherwood has all but fallen off the radar as far as the US scene goes. There's a good reason for that -- he's been recovering from his broken femur and wrist back in his hometown of Palmerston North, New Zealand. It's a world away from the So Cal scene, where riders are constantly under the microscope and everyone knows their every move. New Zealand is the perfect haven and has provided Sherwood some much needed downtime and the chance to hang with his family, friends, eat his favorite foods and generally escape the professional FMX pressure-cooker. We managed to hunt down the laid-back teenager and found out exactly what he's been up to, and when he's planning his big return.

Red BullLevi Sherwood catches a cab at the first round of the 2010 Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour in Mexico City, Mexico.

Levi, you busted yourself up at the ASA World Championships of FMX. What happened?
The course had a 75-foot double into an 85-foot double and I pulled a stripper flip on the first jump, then on the way back through my toes just nipped the gear-shifter and tapped the bike into neutral. It was mid-run, and because of the momentum I was kinda 50/50 as to whether it was in neutral and decided to give it a go anyway. I had no drive off the ramp and landed on the flat halfway between the ramp and landing. I didn't think it was going to be too bad, but as soon as I hit the ground I knew I'd broken my wrist and femur, and it was game over; it's the worst stack I've ever had.

You finished the Red Bull X-Fighters series in fourth overall in 2010. Who's going to be the one to watch out for in 2011?
Nate Adams. He's won it the last two years and he's always on point. I've also realized this sport is a "name-game". I watched the final round in Rome from the couch and even I found myself being biased towards the bigger-named riders. In FMX contests I think your actual riding only accounts for 50 percent of your result. If you're flavor of the month you'll get another 25 percent, and if you're a big-name rider, you'll get another 25 percent. Unless your name is Travis Pastrana; then it's probably 75 percent about the name and 25 percent about doing backflips over berms.

What have you been up do since returning home?
There's been a lot of catching with friends and family, hanging at the beach, mucking around on my 50 and a fair bit of Playstation action. I also watched all 18 episodes of "Outrageous Fortune" in a week, which was pretty mad. The leg is coming along well too. I don't have a limp any more and I'm starting to build the muscle up again. The screws in my hip bother me a bit, but I'm going to get those out as soon as I can.

ESPN Action SportsSherwood with a huge Hart Attack at X Games 16.

Nice one, bro. We hear you've been looking at some land in New Zealand?
Yeah I'm looking around. There was one place I was keen on but they wanted a bit much for it, and the longer I wait the more likely I'll get what I'm after. I'm looking for land with maximum hills so I don't get bored riding there after a couple of weeks, and it's got to be away from houses so I don't run into any trouble with noise, dust and all that sort of bullshit.

Good luck with that. In all your travels, what's been your biggest rock star moment?
I'd had to say my first X-Fighters in Mexico last year. I was carried around on the shoulders of all these Mexicans and was treated like a god. They'd all yell "Champion! Champion!" because that's all they could say. I honestly didn't know what to do with myself. I couldn't drink the champagne because I was too young, but I threw pretty much every item of riding gear up into the crowd. It was amazing.

Does the Kiwi accent go down well with the ladies on the Red Bull X-Fighters tour?
Yeah, they like it, but I don't have the game to back it up unfortunately. I think girls just like freestyle riders in general. Everyone else seems to pick up heaps of girls, but I struggle.

I don't believe that for a second, but whatever. What are your plans/goals for next year?
I want to finish the X-Fighters series without getting hurt and have a decent shot at the title, and I want to do better at X Games and beat Travis. Actually, speaking of Travis, I'm going to ride the New Zealand leg of the Nitro Circus Live Tour at the beginning of next year. I'm looking forward to catching up with all my old show mates and to having a good time with no stress. It's going to be mint riding in front of my home country, but I'm going to need to find 300 free tickets at every round, as all my mates are hitting me up already!

Video: Mike Metzger hits Ocotillo Wells

"The Godfather of Freestyle Motocross," Mike Metzger held his second annual "The Hit Is Out" event this past weekend in the Southern California desert oasis, otherwise known as Ocotillo Wells. One of the greatest freeriders of all time, Metzger created the event as a way of giving fans an opportunity to ride one of the greatest freeride spots in the world with some of the big names in the industry, as well as give aspiring FMXers a chance to show their stuff. The three-day event consisted of trail rides, live bands, a freestyle show and lots and lots and lots of freeriding. Riders this year included Metzger, Steve Haughelstine, Bryce Hudson and many others.

ESPN FMX crashed the first day on Friday, but we were unfortunately unable to tag along for the duration of the three-day event. Check out the video above to see Metzger showing the kiddies how it's done on his big KTM four-stroke. The Godfather is in the building.
